About Us

Motifya is a magazine about interiors, colour and travel — the way light moves through a room, a city, a glass of something cold.

We started this because most design writing tells you what to buy. We wanted to write about how light actually falls across a room at four in the afternoon, why one shade of terracotta feels warmer than another, what a city looks like through a café window. Less shopping list, more noticing.

How we work

Every piece is written by someone who actually stood in the room, walked the street or tried the recipe. When we recommend something, it earned a place in our own home first — never because a placement was paid for.

• Noticing over trend-chasing. We’d rather describe one real thing well than list ten.
• Honest recommendations. We only point you to things we actually love.
• Made slowly. Fewer, better stories beat a firehose every time.
